What I'm working on this week, and what Founders School has taught me so far. Updated October 5, 2026.

This week

  • Arc

Calling HVAC owners from 7:10am, before the trucks leave.

Afternoons reach the office, not the owner. Five new leads researched today.

  • Steele

Getting the parent product in front of parents.

Google Classroom and Calendar sync is live at steelelabs.co.

  • School

Founders School: academics in the morning, the business the rest of the day.

Founders School

I applied the day I heard about it and got in at the end of April. The goal: build a real business before graduation.

Pick one niche and pick up the phone.

100+ cold emails across eight niches got one reply, and it was a no. Two days on the phone with HVAC owners got my first warm lead.

Do the math before you spend the week.

Half our class sold window washing door to door. Priced out, the best case was about $30 to $40 an hour. Too slow for the goal.

Sell it before you build it.

A page someone can pay on is enough to start. No product, no code yet.

Sell the result, not the work.

Owners don't want a nicer website. They want more calls. The pitch changed when I understood that.
